Industrial Cyclone Dust Separator

Cyclone Separator is a device that uses centrifugal force generated by rotating airflow to separate dust particles from gas. It features simple structure, small volume, low cost, easy operation and simple maintenance, with low power consumption and suitability for high-temperature gas. It is only suitable for collecting dust particles larger than 10μm, with a collection efficiency of 60%-90% for particles smaller than 5μm. Therefore, it is often used as the first-stage dust removal device. It is applied in woodworking manufacturing, mechanical processing (welding, grinding, polishing fume treatment), spraying workshops, metallurgy, foundry, chemical, food processing, paper making and other industries, filtering air particles and impurities.

Application Fields

Cyclone Separator is widely used in dust purification across hardware, furniture, cement, building materials, ceramics, chemical, shoe-making, foundry, aluminum products, metallurgy, sandblasting, refractory materials, mechanical processing and non-ferrous metal industries.

Working PrincipleCyclone Separator is classified into multi-cyclone separators (multiple small dust collectors in parallel in one shell), bypass cyclone separators (with a bypass separation chamber using upper vortex to separate dust) and diffusion cyclone separators (inverted cone shape with a reflection screen at the bottom) based on structure.

It generally consists of exhaust pipe, air inlet pipe, cylinder and cone. Dust-laden gas enters the separator through the inlet, rotating downward along the cylinder wall (outer vortex). The outer vortex flows to the bottom of the cone and then rotates upward along the axis (inner vortex), finally discharged through the exhaust pipe. The two vortices rotate in the same direction; dust particles move to the outer wall under inertial centrifugal force and fall into the ash hopper under airflow and gravity. When airflow rotates downward from the top, part of the airflow (upper vortex) rises with dust to the top, then rotates downward and is discharged. Air inlet methods include tangential (direct, scroll), axial and others.
