Preprocessing and interception
The Coalescence Separator Filter is equipped with a high-precision pre-filtration element, which is made of gradient porous materials such as glass fiber, metal mesh and composite filter paper. It can intercept solid impurities, suspended solids and fiber impurities in the fluid with high efficiency according to the actual filtration requirements. This step can avoid the impurities from covering the surface of the subsequent coalescence element and interfering with the coalescence effect, and also reduce the formation of stable emulsified liquid by impurities, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent demulsification and coalescence of micro-droplets.

Coalescence process
After the impurity-removed fluid flows through the coalescing filter element, the tiny dispersed liquid droplets in the medium are adsorbed on the surface of the coalescing fiber under the action of surface tension. Relying on the hydrophobic/oleophilic or oleophobic/hydrophilic selective wettability of the special coalescing filter material, the adsorbed micro-droplets stay on the fiber surface and continuously collide and merge with other droplets in the process of fluid flow. The multi-layer gradient structure design of the coalescing filter element makes the droplets undergo repeated collision and coalescence in the layer-by-layer flow process, and the particle size increases step by step until the droplets form large-size liquid droplets that can be separated by gravity.
Separation and sedimentation
The large liquid droplets formed by coalescence enter the separation filter element area, and the separation filter element has the opposite wettability to the coalescing filter element, which realizes the efficient two-phase separation of the medium and the large droplets through the difference of material surface properties. Driven by the density difference between the liquid droplets and the base medium, the large liquid droplets break away from the fluid flow under the action of gravity, and settle to the dedicated liquid collection chamber at the bottom of the equipment. The liquid level gauge in the equipment monitors the liquid level of the collected droplets in real time, and the operator can discharge the collected liquid regularly through the automatic or manual drain valve to complete the whole separation and purification process.
