JFG-12 Natural Gas Coalescing Filter Cartridge | Aftermarket Replacement Filter Element

Designed for vertical and horizontal natural gas filter separators, the JFG-12 coalescing filter cartridge delivers reliable gas-liquid and gas-solid separation for medium and low-flow gas processing facilities. Constructed with multi-layer gradient borosilicate glass fiber media, this cylindrical filter efficiently removes liquid droplets, hydrocarbon condensate, free water, oil mist and pipeline particulate contaminants inside natural gas, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and other non-corrosive process gases. All dimensional parameters, end cap structure and sealing dimensions match standard housing specifications, enabling direct drop-in replacement without modifying existing equipment. Widely deployed at gas gathering stations, pressure regulating stations and instrument gas skids, it guarantees stable gas quality and protects downstream pipelines and precision machinery.

Product Introduction

Product Overview

JFG-12 is the short-length base model of the JFG cylindrical coalescer series, developed for filtration systems with limited internal installation length. Different from tapered PCHG and JMG elements, the straight cylindrical structure creates consistent radial gas flow, eliminating uneven load distribution on filter media. Layered gradient filtration realizes step-by-step impurity interception, reducing the risk of premature surface clogging in gas pipelines carrying mixed solid and liquid pollutants. Optimized feed channel design minimizes pressure differential build-up during long-term continuous running.

Working Principle

JFG series coalescing filters operate based on proven cylindrical gradient coalescing separation technology:

1. Polluted natural gas containing liquid condensate, oil mist and solid debris flows radially outward from the inner core of the filter cartridge.

2. Multi-gradient glass fiber media intercepts fine solid particles and captures micro liquid aerosols, merging scattered droplets into large liquid masses.

3. Coalesced liquid slides down the outer surface of filter media and is discharged via the drain port of the filter vessel under gravity.

4. Clean, dry gas flows out to downstream equipment to finish gas-liquid-solid three-phase separation.

Key Features

- Standard cylindrical configuration: Uniform gas flow distribution for balanced media utilization

- Compact short-size structure: Perfect for filter housings with limited installation space

- Multi-layer gradient coalescing media:Efficient removal of submicron liquid aerosols and solid impurities

- Full-face metal end cap sealing: Eliminate bypass filtration to maintain stable purification efficiency

- Rigid anti-collapse inner support tube: Stable shape under cyclic gas pressure variation

- Full series specification coverage: Interchangeable aftermarket solution for multiple flow requirements

Application Scenarios

JFG-12 and all JFG series natural gas coalescing filter cartridges are widely used across the natural gas industry. Typical application sites include gas gathering stations, pipeline pigging stations, city gate stations, pressure regulating and metering skids, instrument gas supply systems, distributed gas power plants and petrochemical process gas pipelines. The filter removes free water, hydrocarbon condensate, rust particles and dust in raw natural gas, preventing liquid corrosion, valve blockage and damage to flow meters, compressors and turbine equipment.

Product Advantages

1. Straight cylinder design ensures even gas flow, extending the service life of filter media compared with uneven flow structures.

2. Multiple length options available, supporting small pilot equipment and medium-scale gas treatment projects.

3. Outstanding liquid coalescing performance to meet strict dry gas standards for instrument and combustion systems.

4. Slow differential pressure rising trend, reducing the frequency of shutdown maintenance and element replacement.

5. Standardized outer dimensions support direct replacement, convenient for on-site maintenance and spare parts management.

FAQ

Q1: What is the difference between JFG cylindrical filter and PCHG tapered filter?

A1: JFG adopts straight cylindrical shape while PCHG uses tapered conical structure. JFG provides more uniform gas flow and suits most standard horizontal filter vessels; tapered PCHG is preferred for specific vertical separation housings.

Q2: Can JFG-12 filter out tiny oil mist inside natural gas?

A2: Yes. Gradient glass fiber media can effectively capture submicron liquid aerosols and complete coalescence separation to produce dry qualified gas.

Q3: Can different length models in the JFG series be mixed in one filter vessel?

A3: It is not recommended. Mixing different lengths will cause inconsistent flow distribution and reduce overall filtration efficiency. Use the same model for each filter bank.

Q4: How do I judge when the JFG filter cartridge needs to be replaced?

A4: Replace the element once the pressure difference between inlet and outlet rises to the threshold specified by system design, or when outlet gas shows visible liquid carryover.

Q5: Are JFG series elements compatible with original PECO filter housings?

A5: Yes. All end cap sizes, outer diameter and overall length follow industry standard dimensions for seamless plug-and-play replacement.

Q6: What pretreatment should be equipped upstream of coalescing filters?

A6: It is suggested to install primary particulate filters upstream to intercept large solid impurities, which can effectively reduce media fouling and prolong filter service cycle.

Q7: How should unused JFG filter elements be stored?

A7: Keep sealed in original packaging, store under dry, ventilated conditions at normal ambient temperature. Avoid direct sunlight, heavy extrusion and moisture soaking before installation.
